Job summary

This position serves as an Operating Room Inventory Management Specialist in the Commodity Management Division with specialized focus on the Medical/Surgical Supplies of the Logistics Service in a Veteran Affairs Health Care System (VA HCS GLA) and supported catchment area - with responsibility for the inventory management of all expendable supplies and durable medical equipment (DME) and with oversight of implant inventory in the assigned area(s). Conducts short - mid and long-term advanced planning for operating room (OR) expendable items and durable medical equipment (DME) - utilizing enterprise-wide computerized planning tools Analyzes data and computes requirements for supplies and DME Performs analytical work to manage - regulate - coordinate - or otherwise exercise control over OR expendable (EX) supplies Forecasts short and long-range inventory needs considering changes in medical surgical technologies clinical scheduling changes program requirements Exercises Ordering Officer Authority determining best value contract sourcing Assists customers creation Performance Work Statements procurement determines best purchasing payment method purchase card order contract document etc Conducts market research product pricing performance Reviews OR schedules anticipates supply needs advance Works independently responsible receiving ordering initial stock requests surgical implantable devices Manages inventory independently sets initial stock par levels reorder points resolves issues surgical services Utilizes best practices principles tools concepts methodologies determine evaluate supply system performance Coordinates rotation emergency caches prevent expirations economy supply maintaining National Emergency Management stock levels Conduces wall-to-wall periodic inventories own initiative identify potential shrinkage issues other supply chain discrepancies Utilizes automated inventory management system General Inventory Package GIP equivalent system maintain current inventory data Analyzes range inventory management reports Coordinates stakeholders ensure new replacement item requests submitted Clinical Product Review Committee CPRC Supports other elements organization performs duties assigned Work Schedule Full-Time Monday Friday 8:00 am 4:30 pm CompressedFlexible Not authorized Telework Not authorized Virtual This is not a virtual position Position DescriptionPD# Inventory Management SpecialisPD99809S RelocationRecruitment Incentives Not authorized
