- Oversight of the CDL program for the SDLA.
- Manage division supervisors, lead, auditors, and examiners assigned to the division.
- Manages the Third-Party Examiner Program consisting of 34 TPE's.
- Manage the Commercial Truck Driving Schools licensing.
- Develops and recommends policies, rules and regulations which pertain to the administration of assigned programs consistent with federal regulations and state statutes.
- Participates in program analysis, including the analysis of problems and needed services.
- Reviews and analyzes information from reviews and projects for immediate and long-range program development.
- Advises subordinate program staff and other interested groups of the proper interpretation and application of federal regulations, state statutes, agency rules and policies.
- Reviews periodic staff reports, administrative audits, program activities and other information to evaluate program effectiveness.
- Develops controls to assure accountability for program operation, policy implementation and the maintenance of efficiency in various units.
- Conduct training classes for TPE's and Examiner personnel to comply with Federal Regulations requirements.
- Develops and maintains sound personnel policies and practices.
- Create job descriptions for the CDL Division
- Review background check returns for all prospective Service Oklahoma employees, Designated Examiners, Class D Commercial Drive School Instructors, prospective Galt employees.
- Communicate with FMCSA, AAMVA, DPS, and OHP personnel regarding Commercial Driver License issues or requests.
- Represent Service Oklahoma at FMCSA, AAMVA, Legislative and other entities as directed or requested.
- Reply and respond to inquires via email or phone
- Submit correspondence to downgrade current CDL holders as needed.
- Knowledge of federal regulations, state statutes regarding commercial driver licenses requirements, and medical aspects.
- Skills and Abilities required at this level include knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations relating to the administration of assigned program.
- Knowledge of the principles, methods and practices of the program being administered; of the organization, development, and administration of the program for which responsibility is assigned; and of supervisory principles and practices.
- Extensive knowledge of CDL Knowledge and Skills Testing requirements as defined in Federal Regulations and Oklahoma Administrative Code.
- Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and resolve conflicts effectively.,

- The Specialist is an entry-level position where employees are responsible for performing various routine duties related to CDL functions. Duties will vary according to the section in which the position is located and the needs of CDL Division.
- The Lead Specialist is an advance-level position where employees are assigned responsibilities as a lead worker or team leader. Duties include planning and coordinating work activities, training staff, and managing and creating scheduled reports.

The Service Oklahoma (SOK) mission is to ease the stress in navigating government services by providing a best-in-class customer experience. We are Oklahomans helping Oklahomans by providing driver license and motor vehicle services on behalf of the state.
The Service Oklahoma offers a generous benefits package, including a benefits allowance to off-set the costs of medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance plans. The Service Oklahoma will match up to 7% towards an employee's Defined Contribution retirement plan. Our employees receive 11 paid holidays, 15 days of paid annual leave, which increases with every 5 years of service, and 15 days of paid sick leave. POSITION SUMMARY

Responsibilities involving providing direction and guidance for program services or operations and coordinating program functions and activities within the CDL division.
