    Description

    SAIC is looking for a highly motivated, hands-on candidate that will be engaged in a wide range of cyber security engineering activities, including supporting software and system requirements, design, development, testing, and maintenance.

    They will provide security and information assurance (IA) support, adhering to the Risk Management Framework (RMF) to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information.

    The position involves advising government clients on information assurance across current and emerging systems and technologies, implementing cyber security solutions, and ensuring compliance with RMF standards and procedures.

    The candidate will also research and integrate open-source software innovations for network modernization, facilitate the adoption of security solutions, coordinate common control documentation, and provide expertise on NIST Common Controls.


    Job responsibilities mainly include:
    Cyber Security Engineering activities in support of software and system requirements, design, development, testing, and sustainment.
    Provide Security/Information Assurance (IA) and RMF support to government clients.

    Advise clients on all matters related to information assurance which includes supporting current systems and technologies as well as those being considered for integration.

    Ensure appropriate cyber security solutions, standards and procedures are implemented across efforts to ensure information confidentiality, integrity and availability as prescribed by the RMF.

    Research and formulate open-source software innovations integration in support of network modernization efforts using industry best practices for cost efficiency solutions.

    Facilitate the adoption of cyber and technological security solutions.

    Coordinate Enterprise-wide Common Control Documentation and provide technical expertise as needed to Department partners on proper implementation of NIST Common Controls.

    Administration and maintenance of industry leading security tools, performing system management, code upgrades, and rules development.

    Additional responsibilities as part of this team will include managing the cloud infrastructure and our supporting applications and tools; virtual server management within the infrastructure; being part of the development team in troubleshooting web software errors; and other duties as assigned.

    Support infrastructure using technology and engineering best practices; Transport Control Protocol / Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), routing protocols, LAN switching, Internet and Intranet systems, and Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) based network management systems.

    Lead design efforts that require in-depth technical knowledge of both wide area and local area communications.

    Analyze network performance with tools Perform comparative analysis of systems and designs based on merit and cost (in terms of capital and ongoing operations); and/or engineering economics (engineering-related cost benefit analysis).

    Qualifications
    B.S.

    in technology field computer science, electrical engineering, information systems management, or related field of study AND 5 years of experience, or demonstrate 8 years of equivalent experience in a related field.

    Experience with cloud-native infrastructure, including virtual networks, security groups, and identity management services
    Experience in NIST A&A/RMF guidelines and industry best practices
    Knowledge of standard methodologies used in A&A process.
    Firewall, IDS, IPS, and Proxy experience
    Demonstrated experience with life-cycle management, systems health and security monitoring to identify system failures, bottlenecks, or intrusions.
    Proficient in working with contemporary scripting languages to automate and provide solutions to business problems.
    Ability to work independently and achieve objectives on complex projects running simultaneously and complete projects by required due dates.
    Experience with STIG and remediating vulnerabilities and vendor best practices

    Experience in working within environments that employ Agile and Scrum methodologies for project management and are structured around a DevOps culture.

    Good leadership qualities to instruct and lead junior engineers, administrators, and technicians
    GCP, Azure, or AWS Cloud certifications

    Certifications (minimum of 1 of the following)


    CISSP

    CISM

    CISA

    CPP

    CRISC

    CEH
    Security+

    ITIL

    Citizenship / Clearance Qualifications:
    US Citizenship Required
    Must be able to obtain DHS Public Trust prior to starting

    Target salary range:
    $105,001 - $115,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors. SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline.


    Covid Policy:
    SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
