What You Will Be Doing:

Provide service to policyholders whose insurance business has been permanently assigned to Marketing or temporarily assigned while an agency is vacant.

Perform underwriting selection based upon quality of business and acceptability, accept, or deny coverage requested (bind coverage per assessed needs).

Evaluate existing business and exercise judgment regarding retention and rating of business. Make recommendations and initiate course of action when consulted by company personnel and employees in field.

Must have superior written and verbal communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to obtain and maintain an insurance agent license in each of Shelter's operating statesAbility to analyze risks, exercise judgment and make decisions with speedExcellent time management skills and ability to handle multiple tasks effectivelyAptitude to operate both the agent operating systems and the Home Office operating systems to process changes and submit new applicationsSuperior computer skillsMust be able to work flexible schedules (including holidays) and work well with othersAbility to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without a reasonable accommodationShelter's uncompromising commitment to excellence doesn't stop with our customers.
