Job Description:
The CT Tech is responsible for conducting a variety of CT procedures using ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. This role requires creativity, drive, and independent decision-making to deliver top-notch scans.

Job Essentials:

Ensuring accurate patient identification, verifying orders, and preparing patients for examinations.
Performing examinations following departmental protocols.
Having knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and showcasing expertise in anatomical positioning.
Familiarity with the ALARA program and adherence to radiation safety procedures.
Ability to evaluate personal films.
Completing studies within specified timeframes as per departmental standards without compromising patient care or examination quality.
Understanding contrast administration protocols.
Administering oral barium products or intravenous contrast material to patients as per physician's orders under radiologist or physician supervision.
Practicing proper infection control and sterile techniques.
Providing relevant patient education and ensuring patient comfort.
Operating CT equipment and associated information systems proficiently to produce quality images.
Demonstrating proficiency in contrast injectors and laser printers.
Displaying comprehension and aptitude with electronic imaging to view, transfer, and manipulate images.
Thorough and accurate completion of all necessary documentation, including time stamps and image storage.
Following appropriate protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, obtaining consents, documenting events, maintaining a current QC program for ACR, and reporting equipment issues.

Minimum Qualifications:

Radiography Certification/Registration (ARRT)
Relevant State licensure (where required)
Demonstrated CT proficiency
Basic Life Support(BLS) certification (healthcare)
Post-hire expectation: Attainment of departmental IV certification competency within three months of hire.
Post-hire expectation: (Where applicable) Completion of the controlled substance module within six months of hire.
Post-hire expectation: (Where applicable) Completion of the initial moderate sedation module within six months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

CT Certification/Registration (ARRT)
1+ year(s) of CT experience
