- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, or related field of study
- 5 to 10 years of electrical hardware design experience
- Broad hardware design background including power supplies, digital & analog circuits, memory, and interconnect.
- Proficient in component level circuit design of high-performance DSP, microprocessor & microcontroller-based embedded systems
- Knowledgeable on solid state memory, touch interfaces, LED & LCD displays, and various analog and digital sensors and their associated interface circuitry
- Working knowledge of industry standard interfaces (e.g., DDR, PCIe, I2C, SPI, UART, USB 3.0 and 10G or faster Ethernet, etc.)
- Experience with Bluetooth, BLE, IoT, and app driven embedded systems/products.
- Experience working with test equipment (e.g., digital oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, temperature chambers, etc.)
- Experience with RTOS, Linux, Android for embedded systems.
- Experience with high-speed simulation of DDR memory, Ethernet, and USB subsystems.
- Proficient with Schematic Capture and PCB layout software
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and organize projects.
- Full spectrum product development (concept, design, implementation, test, production, and support)
- Design complex systems with multiple hardware, mechanical and software components.
- Deliver designs which meet quality, schedule, and cost targets.
- Design communication links between the processor, other internal subsections, and external modules.
- Formulate test plans to ensure component and system level performance.
- Validate testing to ensure performance over temperature and voltage extremes.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis and provide permanent fixes for issues.
- Conduct and participate in hardware and system design reviews.
- Interface closely with other teams such as Product Management, Design, Software, Mechanical, Manufacturing teams and with external component suppliers
- Design and conduct experiments and analyze and interpret data.
- Assign tasks and work closely with engineers, technicians, and administrative staff.
- Assist with proposals to obtain funding for engineering projects and programs.
- Support the team when needed.
- Follows all policies and procedures of Occupational Safety and Health, Human Resources and Quality Department. Reports any safety deficiency to immediate supervisor.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
