    Director of Clinical Education, School of Physical Therapy- Denton


    Texas Woman's University (TWU) is seeking a dedicated Director of Clinical Education (DCE) for its highly ranked School of Physical Therapy - Denton campus.

    With current programs on the Dallas and Houston campuses, the School of Physical Therapy intends to expand our programs to the Denton, Texas campus.

    The School of Physical Therapy currently offers DPT and PhD programs, as well as residency programs in neurology and women's health, and recently completed its DPT re-accreditation.

    The DCE holds a faculty appointment and has administrative, academic, service, and scholarship responsibilities consistent with the mission and philosophy of the academic program.

    In addition, the DCE primary responsibilities are to plan, coordinate, facilitate, administer, and monitor activities on behalf of the academic program and in coordination with academic and clinical faculty.

    The DCE serves as a liaison between the physical therapy program and the clinical education site as part of his/her responsibilities.

    The DCE, in cooperation with other academic faculty, establishes clinical education site and facility standards, selects and evaluates clinical education sites, and facilitates ongoing development of and communication with clinical education sites and clinical faculty.


    Specific Responsibilities:

    • Communicates between the Academic Institution and affiliated clinical education sites
    • Develops and maintains an adequate number of clinical education sites
    • Places, supervises, and communicates with students while on clinical experiences.
    • Monitors and documents the academic performance of students relative to the criteria for completing clinical learning experiences.
    • Provides direct input into curriculum design, review, and revision processes for the Program
    • Coordinates and/or provides leadership for a Clinical Education or Program Advisory Committee
    • Functions as a faculty member in other job responsibilities as delegated by the Director/Associate Director
    • Assists the Director/Associate Director in the development of a program budget related to the clinical education program
    • Develops, implements, and monitors adherence to policy and procedures for the clinical education component of the curriculum.
    • Participates in the preparation of accreditation documentation and outcome performance assessment of students in the physical therapy program.
    Minimum Qualifications


    • Eligible for licensure as a physical therapist in the State of Texas
    • Earned doctoral degree
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a licensed physical therapist.
    • Minimum of 3 years of clinical teaching and/or clinical coordination experience.
    • Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, problem-solving, and counseling skills.
    • Current member of the American Physical Therapy Association
    • Able to meet faculty requirements as stated in the Evaluative Criteria for Physical Therapist Education Programs.
