    Summary



    As a Program Analyst you will be responsible for providing in-depth analysis on a variety of subjects involving the evaluation of various administrative programs.

    Location of the position: PBS Region 1, Administrative Support Branch in Providence, RI, Hartford, CT, or Burlington, VT

    We are currently filling two vacancies, but additional vacancies may be filled as needed.



    Duties


    This position has job functions that must be executed within specific geographic locations. The official duty station is a federal facility, leased space, or an alternative worksite (typically the employee's home) within the specified geographic area. If you are selected for this position you will be expected to report to the duty station listed on this announcement within 45 days. At that time, you may be eligible to request to telework one or more days a pay period depending upon the terms of the agency's telework policy.

    • Analyzes and evaluates the effectiveness of program operations in meeting established goals and objectives.
    • Performs cradle-to-grave analyses, develops life-cycle cost analyses, and develops recommendations for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the management of the program and initiatives.
    • Develops recommendations for program activities, and operating policies and procedures.
    • Serves as technical adviser for assigned program activities, recommending appropriate resources to facilitate accomplishment of objectives.
    • Performs studies requiring evaluation and identification of a variety of operational problems, evaluating alternative solutions, and recommending appropriate action.
    • Conducts analytical studies directly related to functional activities or programs.
    • Participates in comprehensive management studies, initiatives, or data-gathering efforts to support the development of project scope and boundaries.
    • Monitors the progress of program areas towards meeting set objectives and schedules by appraising performance, progress, and program status.
    • Appraises performance, progress, program status and trends against approved objectives and program goals and schedules.
    • Prepares and/or conducts briefings for higher level management to explain subject matter analyses.
    • Prepares and/or conducts briefings for higher level management to present recommendations, action plans, and to provide guidance and implementation.
    • Presents recommendations for the development or modification of program objectives and resource utilization to achieve established goals and improve the performance of operating programs.
