    DESCRIPTION OF WORK

    The role involves carrying out semi-skilled manual tasks related to construction and maintenance within a State Park. This position is responsible for independently performing semi-skilled work or assisting a skilled worker in completing routine maintenance and construction tasks. This includes making necessary repairs to buildings and facilities using a variety of tools from the carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and other building trades. Additionally, you will be involved in operating and maintaining vehicles and equipment used throughout the park, ensuring they are kept in good condition. You will also contribute to the construction process by building simple forms for cement work using carpenter tools, mixing and placing cement, finishing cement using mason tools, and constructing stone and block walls.

    Work Schedule and Additional Information:
    • Seasonal Full-time employment without benefits. The season runs from approximately April - October at which the employee is placed on leave without pay.
    • This position performs in a seven (7) day a week operation and will be scheduled to work weekends, evening and holidays. Specific schedule requirement will be conveyed during the interview process.

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
    • One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or
    • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
