CalWest's client school in the Greater San Francisco Bay Area is seeking an Upper School English Teacher to begin in August 2024.
CalWest Required Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree and/or other educational requirements listed on the job description
Requisite skills commensurate with the position
A reasonable commuting distance to the CalWest client school, or a willingness to relocate
Authorization to live and work in the United States
Client School Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree, Master's degree preferred
At least three years of classroom teaching experience in a high school setting
Responsibilities
Design and implement creative pedagogy with instruction that values a hands-on, collaborative, project-based curriculum & methodology
Cultivate an inclusive, challenging, and equitable learning environment that reflects our core values and allows the diverse student body to grow and thrive
Set and maintain acceptable standards of classroom behavior to establish a positive and appropriate learning environment
Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative and meaningful curriculum with vertical alignment
Integrate technology in effective ways that enhance students' learning experiences and growth
Participate in professional development opportunities that promote growth and leadership
Record and report on students' progress. Assign and grade projects and examinations.
Serve as an advisor who is committed to the social and emotional development of students
Attend meetings as required
Foster an inclusive school environment
Strong written and verbal communication
Salary Range
$ 70,000 – $ 150,000
