Principal R&D Engineer (Hybrid in Mansfield and Minneapolis)
A Day in the Life
An individual contributor with responsibility in our technical functions to advance existing technology or introduce new technology and therapies. Formulates, delivers and/or manages projects assigned and works with other stakeholders to achieve desired results. May act as a mentor to colleagues or may direct the work of other lower level professionals.
The majority of time is spent delivering R&D, systems or initiatives related to new technologies or therapies – from design to implementation - while adhering to policies, using specialized knowledge and skills.
Emphasis on design for manufacturability and prototype developmentResponsibilities
Designs, develops, analyzes, troubleshoots and provides technical skills during research and/or product development. Special focus on plastic / polyurethane designs for single use disposable medical devices.
May be involved in product research and development and/or clinical trials. Translates research discoveries into usable and marketable products.
Recommends various technology options or approaches for system, processes, facility or program improvements in terms of safety, performance, efficiency or costs.
May be responsible for the transfer from R&D to manufacturing.Must Have
Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
or advanced degree
Nice to Have
Advanced / expert in Solidworks and drawings
Good organization and communication skills to coordinate with global teams
