This position is nonpartisan in natureand requires the ability to work with neutrality in a politically charged environment.

    The individual selected for this position must have a positive attitude, strong work ethic, attention todetail, and be public service oriented with the ability to maintain a good rapport with LRC staff, stateemployees, and the general public.

    The individual must be able to work under stress, with the understandingthat during legislative sessions and occasionally during the interim period, working significant amounts ofovertime will be required.

    This is a permanent, full-time position with benefits including health and life insurance; retirement plan;and paid holidays, vacation, and sick days.

    Compensatory time is awarded on an hour-for-hour basis with priorapproval.


    Job Duties:

    Analyze requirements and assist in the selection, installation, testing, and support of networkingdevices including PCs, servers, storage, switches, firewalls, antivirus, and backup solutions.

    Assist in maintaining and implementation of the backend systems for the VoIP system and databasesystems.

    Maintain and support Active Directory, Email systems, file transfer systems, network and PC managementsystems, wireless networks, and remote access methodsProvide basic technical support of networking issuesMaintain network documentation and configuration information.

    Stay current with IT technology and operating methods.
    Assist in network and communications planning.
    Perform other duties as assigned.


    Desired Skills and Abilities:
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively andimpartially with others involved in the legislative process.
    Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
    Ability to resolve complex problems under pressure.
    Excellent skills in using Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint,and Outlook.
    Knowledge or experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Transmission ControlProtocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).Knowledge of hardware and network technologies.

    Knowledge and experience with multiple operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.)Knowledge and experience with Linux containers and DockerSome programming and scripting language knowledge and experience (PowerShell& Python preferred)Positive attitude and strong work ethic.

    Ability to manage a small project.
    Ability to understand and uphold the strict confidential nature of legislative work.
    Ability to uphold expectations of a nonpartisan staff member.
    Ability to work extended hours as needed.
