Responsibilities
Provides discipline-specific treatment for children with ASD or other diagnosis, including evaluation, planning, and documentation
Develops and maintains appropriate Individualized Treatment Plans
Partners with interdisciplinary teams to provide consultation
Develops and provides coaching for family members and/or participants to incorporate new skills and/or techniques into normal routines and activities at home
Instructs family members in the proper and safe usage of adaptive equipment and assistive technology
Provides clinical supervision, management, direction, training, and discipline to associates who provide clinical therapies as well as to administrative associates, ensuring compliance with program guidelines
Guarantees the safety and security of all program participants and associates
Interviews, selects, and provides ongoing assessment of associates
Provides clinical oversight of protocols related to, but not limited to, child and family assessment, behavior intervention, case assignments, and associate trainings
Performs documentation reviews to maintain compliance, and quality assurance with regulations and program requirements
Evaluates program needs to develop and implement services
Conducts or attend meetings, in-services, or other meetings as requested, regarding clinical therapy services across program service divisions
Remain current regarding new research, current trends and developments in autism, special education and related fields
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Masters Degree in occupational therapy, OR speech language pathology and at least 3 years experience with infant/young children with disabilities, including autism
At least 2 years of prior supervisory experience is required
Must possess and maintain a current state or national certification and/or licensure in accordance with California state practice
Knowledgeable in licensed area of practice, interdisciplinary early intervention theories, and rehabilitation principles and practices
Knowledgeable of evidence-based practices found to benefit children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD)
Familiar with the field of early intervention including a general understanding of approaches based on the science of Applied Behavior Analysis
Ability to maintain positive customer interaction and professionalism, communicate effectively through oral and written skills, and work cooperatively with a variety of individuals and groups; demonstrated ability to interact well with children and their families, and to maintain a positive affect
Ability to interpret and implement policies, procedures and regulations; ability to exercise discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality in handling sensitive situations and documentation
Ability to consistently demonstrate good judgment and decision making skills
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (i.e
Outlook, Word, Excel, Skype, etc.) and related software applications
Ability to pass a post-offer physical examination and a TB test
Ability to provide proof of required vaccinations or positive titer showing immunity
A signed declination may be acceptable for certain vaccinations
Ability to obtain and maintain a criminal record/fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation per Easter Seals Southern California and/or program requirements
Ability to travel locally; maintain driving record in compliance with Transportation Safety Standards; maintain auto insurance and vehicle registration
