    Location: Providence, RI

    Job Description:

    We are seeking a skilled and compassionate X-Ray Technician to join our healthcare team in Providence, RI. As an X-Ray Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients, assisting in the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment and contribute to the delivery of exceptional patient care.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Perform diagnostic X-ray examinations on patients using radiographic equipment, following established protocols and safety guidelines.
    2. Position patients properly and instruct them on the procedure to obtain high-quality images while minimizing radiation exposure.
    3. Operate X-ray equipment and related accessories, including digital imaging systems, collimators, and image processing software, to produce accurate and clear radiographic images.
    4. Adjust technical factors such as exposure settings, positioning, and image processing parameters to optimize image quality and diagnostic value.
    5. Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the imaging process, addressing any concerns or questions they may have and providing appropriate support and reassurance.
    6. Maintain accurate patient records, including examination documentation, image files, and pertinent medical information, in compliance with regulatory requirements and departmental policies.
    7. Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to review images, discuss findings, and assist in patient diagnosis and treatment planning.
    8. Assist in the preparation and administration of contrast media for specialized imaging procedures, under the direction of a radiologist or physician.
    9. Perform routine maintenance and quality control checks on X-ray equipment, troubleshooting technical issues and reporting any malfunctions or abnormalities for prompt resolution.
    10. Adhere to infection control protocols, radiation safety practices, and regulatory standards to ensure a safe working environment for yourself, patients, and colleagues.

    Qualifications:

    1. Associate degree or higher in Radiologic Technology or a related field from an accredited institution.
    2. Certification as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent certification required.
    3. State licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Radiologic Technologist in Rhode Island.
    4. Prior experience working as an X-Ray Technician or in a radiology department preferred.
    5. Proficiency in operating X-ray equipment and digital imaging systems, with knowledge of radiographic techniques and positioning principles.
    6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
    7. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing radiographic examinations and documenting patient information.
    8. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
    9. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical standards in all aspects of patient care.
    10. Flexibility to work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed to support departmental operations and meet patient care needs.
