Description

Seeking BE/BC internal medicine or family medicine physician for Physician Advisor role with academic hospital in New York. This is a Non-Clinical position. Few hours from NYC in Central NY. Experience preferred. Physician will serve as a clinical resource and consultant through phone contact and face to face rounds.

Responsibilities also include addressing issues of medical necessity, compliance, level of care, length of stay, readmission review, resource management, etc.

Participation required in process improvement discussions to improve clinical outcomes, compliance with regulatory requirements, and address reimbursement barriers.

Physician Advisor will also advise, assist and educate physicians, advanced practice providers, nurse care managers, nurses and all others involved in the delivery of timely, appropriate and cost effective care.
