- Complete project based training
- Assist on technical design on assigned projects, including lighting calculations, voltage drop, short-circuit calculations, and power/lighting layouts
- Learn best practice engineering methods
- Basic understanding and willingness to learn applicable codes (ie. NEC, NFPA, IBC, etc.)
- Assist in the production of design documents from concept through detailed design for new buildings, renovations, and additions to existing facilities

Job Description
We are seeking an entry level Electrical Engineering Designer to assist project teams in creating electrical power distribution and lighting design documents for healthcare, higher education, and commercial building type projects. The Electrical Designer will work with the project team throughout the design and construction process, coordinating electrical plans with budget constraints, other project discipline design factors and client requirements. Other responsibilities include keeping up with trends in engineering and attending professional development events. Ideal candidates will have attention to detail and a strong desire for organization. Opportunities to grow, update engineering standards and advance to project management.
Essential Responsibilities:
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Architectural or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program. General understanding of electrical engineering as applied to building design and construction. 0-1 years of experience in the engineering field preferred.
Certifications/Licenses/Registrations:
Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam preparation preferred, but not required. Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license and willingness to use insured personal vehicle in the course of employment.
Qualifications/Skills:
The candidate must have basic knowledge in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD & Revit. AGI32 or Dialux experience preferred. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be detail-oriented and able to perform each essential duty effectively.
