BWXT's Nuclear Operations Group - Lynchburg (NOG-L) is currently seeking a System Application Specialist for its Lynchburg, VA location

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

Initiates software change tracking documentation for functional specifications related to quality systems within NOG-L.
Creates, modifies, and reviews functional specifications for Quality Systems.
Ensures software functionality by creating and executing test plans.
Performs cognizant oversight and modifications to QE Systems owned procedure, including user guides.
Participates in company improvement/adhoc teams related to QE Systems modifications.
Performs investigations and derives solutions with QE Systems Developers in response to Near Hits, Improvement Suggestions, or system issues.
Provides customer/user support as necessary.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

A minimum of a Bachelor's degree. A technical discipline is desired.
Must possess the ability to read and understand technical documents.
A working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
A working knowledge of QE Systems and Procedures (EtQ, DocQnet, and Code Compliance).
Must be able to demonstrate superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
Must be highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail and organization.
Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is required. Must also be able to work independently.
Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a rapidly changing environment is required.
Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities is required.
Must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

A minimum of two (2) years of technical work.
Programming knowledge or experience.

Pay: $ [[cust_salaryMin]] - $ [[cust_salaryMax]]

The base salary range for this position in [[stateProvince]] at the start of employment is expected to be between $[[cust_salaryMin]] and $[[cust_salaryMax]] per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,' unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
