    ABOUT THE ROLE


    The Senior Commissioning Engineer is responsible for supporting the commissioning aspects of solar PV, battery energy storage systems, and electrical substation EPC projects nationwide.

    The Senior Commissioning Engineer is a subject matter expert that provides technical support to the field commissioning superintendent and other project team members.

    Primarily this includes creating commissioning plans/reports, analyzing results, interfacing with complex equipment/systems, and troubleshooting issues to ensure projects are completed as planned.

    Essential Functions
    Lead the development of project specific testing and commissioning plans, energization plans, and other testing/commissioning documentation
    Develop commissioning schedule activities and logic in coordination with the project team and subcontractors
    Prepare detailed reports and documentation related to commissioning as required per EPC contractual requirements
    Ensure all test results are acceptable and permanently recorded, filed, and distributed properly
    Access SCADA and relay devices to configure/retrieve data queries, operations logs, etc.
    Provide technical support to resolve problems during commissioning and/or initial operation
    Perform periodic site visits to support commissioning activities and coordinate with Construction
    Assist with the development and refinement of methodologies, tools, and standards in support of continuous improvement initiatives
    Assist with training operations and maintenance personnel to maintain commissioned systems
    Develop various scopes of work to hire commissioning subcontractors
    Regular and predictable attendance
    Other duties as assigned
    Essential functions of this position are to be performed at a Company-designated office or field location

    ABOUT YOU
    Qualifications
    Minimum 5 years of experience in commissioning and/or controls engineering
    Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or comparable discipline with significant electrical utility experience
    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
    Proven successful experience leading complex project commissioning activities
    Advanced knowledge of the design, construction, and/or operation of utility scale PV solar, battery energy storage, or substations
    Excellent organizational, problem-solving and project management skills
    Advanced knowledge of electric construction processes, safety protocols and quality assurance processes
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    Proven ability to prioritize tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously
    Proficiency with MS Excel, Word and Outlook
    Solid knowledge and experience working with SCADA and protection/control systems
    Solid ability to interpret detailed design drawings, interconnection documentation, and EPC contractual exhibits
    Detail oriented with advanced analytical thinking skills
    Ability to build collaborative relationships
