Quality Inspector

Established in 1987, Triad Metals International is a privately held, independent company that has grown to become one of the premier distributors of structural steel, tubing, piling, and plate products. We are looking to hire a Quality Inspector to join our team in Petersburg, Virginia

Successful Candidates will be expected to:

• Inspect, approve, and document incoming and in-process materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
• Maintain daily production and efficiency records for the facility. Take part in efficiency efforts.
• Keep measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration requirements, and calling for repairs.
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
• Support root-cause analysis and corrective action activities when quality issues arise
• Maintain shop data collection and reporting
• Accomplish the quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

Qualifications/Required Experience:

• High school diploma
• Experience with measuring devices such as meters, gauges, computers, calipers, and other measuring instruments
• Experience with AWS D1.1
• Visual weld certification
• Experience in root cause and corrective action programs
• One to two years' quality inspector experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to read blueprints
• Basic Computer and Math Skills are required
