    An exciting opportunity with an innovative battery technology company who are currently seeking a dynamic VP of Battery Engineering to lead the translation of ground breaking advancements in battery chemistry from coin cell prototypes to large-format battery architectures, culminating in commercialization.

    In this pivotal role, the successful candidate will oversee a dedicated team responsible for battery cell design, form factor innovation, and driving business development initiatives for the battery Initiative.

    The ideal candidate will lead the design, construction, and operation of battery cells, collaborating closely with equipment vendors and engineering teams, while taking a lead role in technology transfer for commercialization.


    Responsibilities:
    Leading the development and scale-up of lithium-ion battery architectures.
    Managing a team of engineers to integrate electrolyte technology into large-format full cells.
    Conducting rigorous testing, optimization, and enhancement of battery characteristics, performance, and stability.
    Ensuring the scalability of laboratory techniques utilized for battery fabrication and testing.
    Providing technical guidance and overseeing the work of third-party designers, technicians, and collaborators as necessary for project success.
    Evaluating competitive technologies and exploring their potential applications.
    Actively seeking and nurturing strategic partnerships to drive innovation and growth.


    Qualifications:
    Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering from an accredited institution; advanced degrees (M.S., Ph.
    D.) preferred, with a focus on Polymer Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related fields.
    5-7 years of progressive experience leading Battery Engineering teams within major battery development or production companies.
    Demonstrated expertise in leading multidisciplinary teams of research scientists and engineers.
    In-depth knowledge of ionically conducting polymers and their fabrication processes.
    Extensive experience with lithium secondary batteries and associated chemistries.
    Proven track record in project development, management, and successful delivery.


    Additional Requirements:
    Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment, adapting quickly to evolving priorities and challenges.
    Familiarity with techniques applicable to lithium extraction, separation, recovery, and refining.
    Proficiency in conducting engineering calculations, mass and energy balances, process modeling, and process equipment design.

    Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to effectively engage with boards, partners, and investors through compelling presentations at meetings and conferences.
