Description
:In this role as a Structural Engineer, you will have the opportunity to:
Support design engineering and analysis on substation and transmission scopes.
Collect and assimilate data for engineering work.
Perform research and prepare calculations in accordance with ECF Engineering Consultants and industry standards.
Develop recommendations for equipment and materials.
Assist in project planning and execution.
Must Haves:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program or a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
Professional Engineers license desired (State of Florida) Must be working towards it at a minimum.IEEE and International Building Code.
Experience with system design software, PLS CADD, MFAD, L-Pile, Auto Cadd and Microsoft Office products required. Strong analytical and management skills.
Willingness to travel for site surveys, project scope walks and meetings.
Previous experience supporting substation and transmission engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Design of engineered systems of the small size and less complexity.
Activities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
o Monitor the project construction activities to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
Activities may include, but not be limited to, the following:
Act as Resident Engineer on small size projects. Interpret plans and specifications and apply available information to ensure that all project design requirements are satisfied. Maintain familiarity with appropriate engineering and construction codes and ensure compliance with all codes. Prepare and/or monitor construction schedules to ensure timely completion of the work. Institute and direct changes to the work when required by differing site conditions. Conduct on-site design or investigation work to ensure adequacy of methods. Receive, evaluate, and approve contractors invoices. Receive and inspect equipment to be installed on the project and approve for
payment. Prepare reports and feasibility studies for submission to management.
Serve as project engineer or project manager on assigned projects.
Promote efficient flow of information and ensure complete and accurate record keeping.
Be familiar with the Client/Companys drawing system and design and construction standards as well as applicable industry codes and practices.
Conduct on-site design or investigation work to ensure adequacy of contractors methods.
