    Scale is looking for an experienced platform engineering leader.

    You will work horizontally with the platform team supporting Scales existing and new product verticals creating a platform which enables fast experimentation, high interoperability, and security & compliance by default.

    The ideal candidate is someone who can hands-on lead the platform team today to create the foundational infrastructure for Scales scaling while also creating process and structure for the company's growth.

    They should create a team culture of amplifying Scale and create strong advocates within the product verticals.

    They should have experience leading a high performance horizontal engineering team; identifying what the company needs and with achieving outcomes which combine to push the company forward.


    Day to day:


    30% Managing of ICs within the team30% technical execution/coordination, resolution of execution issues20% strategic platform planning with product leads20% technical platform planning, design, and codingRole:Set the direction of your team; anticipate strategic and scaling-related challenges via thoughtful planning, both from a personnel and technical standpointConverting internal conversations into actionable platform strategyHigh quality execution.

    Responsible for accelerating velocity for our platform orgProvide continuous feedback, address underperformance, and recognize the individual strengths and contributions of your team membersTechnically impressive, breaks down platform strategy and team asks into correct technical building blocks, mentors the teams technical output and calls BS.Working with the cross functional roles (Finance/Security/Supply/Ops)Unblocking and pushing the team to hit deadlinesComfortable with navigating hard-to-follow (or non-existent) processes and comfortable identifying processes which aren't working and changing themUses data for decision makingGrowing the team/setting up for successFosters a collaborative, ambitious, and outcome-driven culture that embodies our values.

    Partner with our People team to attract and engage top talentRequirements:

    SF or NYC based and able to be in person.5+ years track record in engineering management and leadership positionsTrack record of Platform & infrastructure development in the high performance product companies environment.

    Candidates should be able to cite systems currently in production that they developed and rolled out.

    Experience building infrastructure to power AI/ML capabilitiesThe base salary range for this full-time position in our hub locations of San Francisco, New York, or Seattle, is $212,800-$266,000.

    Compensation packages at Scale include base salary, equity, and benefits.

    The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position, determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, interview performance, and relevant education or training.

    Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. Scale employees are also granted Stock Options that are awarded upon board of director approval.
