Summary

The QA Engineer job description encompasses two main roles: testing and documentation. After Software Developers complete their development tasks, Quality Assurance Engineers test them. They use a variety of tools, testing applications and reports to compare the software to user requirements. They ensure that the software functions according to those requirements. After testing, Quality Assurance Engineers recommend changes and improvements for software. They work with developers to make the appropriate changes and then test everything all over again.

The QA Engineers on the NetSuite Product Engineering team works closely with the software developers and product owners on their smaller teams throughout the development cycle.

It's imperative that the QA Engineers are there through all steps of the agile process, providing input along the way.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Identify test scope, digging deep into a complex product
Exploratory manual testing, as well as automated testing
Follow Scrum/Agile practices for testing on an Agile team
Critical thinking and problem solving
Document as we go
Lead and communicate the testing scope on your team
Work together (with other engineers and developers alike)
Work independently
Dive in and learn the product deeply, own your part of the product and be aware of how all the components work together across the entire product
Provide a quality SaaS product for our amazing users

Education And Experience

Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science discipline or equivalent work experience
3-5 years' experience testing in an Agile environment
Strong communication skills and attention to detail
Jira and Zephyr experience or similar technology
Above average understanding JavaScript or TypeScript
Fast learners and hard workers
Experience with NetSuite and Supply Chain/ Warehousing knowledge would be a big plus
