    Major/Essential Functions
    Employees in this classification are responsible for providing professional telephone nursing triage services, in a setting to include "after hours" (evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays) as well as normal operating hours. Duties can be provided remotely when appropriate. Employees in this classification are considered essential personnel and will be required to provide call center/triage duties during inclement weather. They function within their legal scope of practice and in accordance with the policies and procedures of the organization and practice setting using recognized, evidenced based, protocol driven telephone triage software. Telephone Triage RN's will generate appropriate documentation, complete follow up protocols, and communicate with other health care team members as needed to ensure optimal care delivery and optimize customer satisfaction.

    Required Qualifications
    • Education: Completion of a recognized program of professional nursing.
    • Experience: Three years of RN experience, with some RN experience in one of the following settings: hospital, clinic, or community based.
    • License: Current Registered Nursing license in the State of Texas or if licensed in another state, the attainment of a temporary permit from the Board of Nursing to practice professional nursing pending full licensure in the State of Texas.
