    Professor, Tenure Track - Mechanical Engineering

    University of South Carolina

    • Overview:

    The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of South Carolina (USC) in Columbia is seeking qualified applicants for Tenured and Tenure-Track faculty positions to support its initiative in Industrial Engineering.

    Qualifications:

    • PhD degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering
    • Demonstrated research accomplishments
    • Capacity for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses

    Additional Qualifications for Associate and Full Professors:

    • Years of relevant academic experience
    • Record of excellence in teaching and research
    • Competitive funding and interdisciplinary collaborations

    We are looking for candidates with a strong vision for Industrial Engineering education and experience in areas such as Smart Manufacturing, Data Analytics, Machine Learning in Manufacturing, Engineering Management, and Supply Networks.

    Successful candidates will be expected to develop internationally recognized research programs in industrial engineering with a strong publication and research record.

    Experience with federally funded projects and participation in academic and professional societies are required.

    Applicants should have a track record of teaching a variety of industrial engineering courses and engaging in educational activities. ABET accreditation experience is a plus.

    Responsibilities:

    • Teach and develop Industrial Engineering curriculum
    • Develop and sustain an independent research program
    • Collaborate within multi-disciplinary teams
    • Engage in professional activities
