    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    General Description:


    Responsible for providing technical expertise, activity coordination and quality control for all daily work and forward planning on the assigned project.

    Front line interaction with subcontractors, vendors, local municipality officials, design professionals and clients.

    This position provides key communication on a multitude of fronts to ensure that the expectations of all parties are met and/or exceeded.

    Specific organization reporting to the main office will vary by project, however, it is the Project Superintendent's responsibility to know and clearly understand this communication and organization protocol at the Project Orientation Meeting.

    This project may at times report directly to the VPO.


    Specific Responsibilities:
    Full Time presence on the work site and available at all times to the employees and subcontractors working on same while work is ongoing
    Maintain or provide for daily project documentation to be completed as required and distributed as needed
    Prepare Project Schedules on MS Project and Review with PM/VPO. Maintain updates as needed for effective scheduling
    Ensure that company Safety Policy is being followed at all times by all individuals on site, even visitors such as design professionals and clients
    Proactively coordinate all work and members to ensure that execution is as seemless as possible and rework is minimized
    Monitor project progress daily and adjust activities as needed to avoid delays. Provide updates to supervisor on schedule and subcontractor performance
    Coordinate 100% attendance and conduct subcontractor progress meetings on site and ensure notes of the same are forwarded to all team members
    Maintain control over ALL purchases made of the project. Prepare Purchase Orders for review and/or approve if so delegated
    Proactively coordinate all activities and generate resolutions to conflicts that arise that will not delay progress, compromise quality or impact costs
    Maintain all project documents, specifications, selections, milestone dates, Hickory standard practices and distribute to key players as needed
    Coordinate equipment needs for the project. Track and provide feedback regarding budget impact of same to the appropriate parties
    Prepare the project deliverables schedule and collect samples as needed to expedite project flow. Distribute to Design Teams regularly
    Serve as the primary contact for the owner on projects. Conduct OAC Meetings as Needed. Keep accurate records of ALL Interactions with visitors to the site
    Maintain and provide regular updates to the Project Budget Review and ensure it is distributed to all appropriate parties on a regular basis

    Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

    General Description:
    Construction management and leadership experience is required. Knowledge of building codes, the ability to read and interpret for others blue prints, municipal permitting requirements and regulations, mid-level construction management practices and proficient computer knowledge are a prerequisite

    Specific Requirements:
    Valid Drivers License
    High school diploma or GED required
    Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or similar field is Strongly Recommended
    A minimum of 6 months in a Project Superintendent 2 or equivalent position
    Proficient with Excel, Word, MS Office, MS Project and web based applications
    Procore Project Manager Certifications required
    Considerable experience in high pressure situations and projects with tight deadlines required
    Excellent communication skills including written, verbal and non-verbal methods with both internal and external customers
    Ability to work independently to carry out the scope of the project with minimal oversight and assistance from supervisor
    Effective leadership skills for teams of 2-100 individuals at a time including company employees and subcontractors
    OSHA 30 and CPR certified within 12 months of position acquisition

    Physical Requirements:
    Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
    Must be able to walk on a roof during and after construction with proper Personal Protection Equipment
    Must be able to work on elevated platforms
    Must be able to navigate through low clearance crawl spaces
    Must be able to navigate through a standard truss framed attic
    Must be able to work outdoor in climatic environments standard for the region
    Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
    Must have 20/40 natural or corrected vision
