    Position Overview:
    ProCare Therapy is seeking a skilled Virtual Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) to support K-12 students in California. This independent contractor role is perfect for professionals with a minimum score of 3.5 on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) who are eager to provide high-quality services through virtual platforms.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide real-time sign language interpretation for virtual classroom sessions, school meetings, and activities.
    • Facilitate communication between students, teachers, peers, and school staff.
    • Adapt interpretation styles to meet the individual needs of students with varying skill levels.
    • Collaborate with educators, special education teams, and families to ensure student success.
    • Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards in all interactions.
    • Stay informed on best practices and tools for virtual sign language interpretation.

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum score of 3.5 on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA).
    • Certification and licensure to provide sign language interpretation in California.
    • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
    • Prior experience in a school-based setting (virtual experience preferred).
    • Strong technical skills and familiarity with teleconferencing platforms.
    • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities as a 1099 contractor.
