    MORE ABOUT THIS JOBThe Alternative Investments & Manager Selection (AIMS) group provides investors with investment and advisory solutions across leading hedge fund managers, private equity funds, public equity strategies, fixed income strategies, and real estate managers.

    The AIMS group manages globally diversified programs, targeted sector-specific strategies, customized portfolios, and offers a range of advisory services. Our investors access opportunities through new fund commitments, fund-of-fund investments, strategic partnerships, secondary-market investments, co-investments, and seed-capital investments.

    YOUR IMPACTWithin AIMS, Strategists (also known as Strats) work closely with all parts of the business to develop analytical and quantitative methods for manager selection, portfolio construction, and risk management.

    Strat team members are responsible for developing these analytics, and are given ample opportunity to develop creative and novel solutions.

    Successful Strats are analytical, driven, and can communicate with precision and clarity about complex financial, business, and mathematical concepts.

    AIMS Strats is looking for applicants with degrees in a quantitative field such as financial engineering, physics, statistics, applied mathematics, and others, or with relevant professional experience.


    RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:


    HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIALWork closely with AIMS Investment Team and Portfolio Managers to develop new analytics using advanced quantitative, statistical, or econometric techniques to continue to enhance our manager selection and portfolio construction processesResearch, propose, and implement portfolio construction frameworks that take into account portfolio-specific constraints, exposures, and risk objectivesPartner with AIMS client teams to develop automated and ad-hoc client-facing analyticsDevelop and deliver presentations summarizing proposed solutions to senior AIMS managementImplement analytics and mathematical models in production-quality softwareSKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FORStrong mathematical and analytical skills, including a degree in a quantitative discipline and/or related work experienceA demonstrated ability to transform concepts and ideas into robust software.

    Proficiency in Python, Java, C++, Matlab, or an equivalent language strongly desiredExcellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate complex financial and mathematical concepts to both technical and business audiences globallyAn entrepreneurial approach and passion for problem solving and product development, that can also thrive in a team environmentFamiliarity with financial markets and assets preferredABOUT GOLDMAN SACHS:
