    Description

    2nd Shift position

    This role serves as the on-site technical service, maintenance, installation and training resource. The ideal applicant is a hands-on person who enjoys working with machinery and electronics. This person will be responsible for maintenance, repair, setup & operation of robotic & CNC laser welding / cutting equipment for production.

    Requirements

    • Take lead role, provide instruction, and/or complete maintenance to laser equipment and laser chillers per manufacture specifications & MPG requirements.
    • Take lead role, provide instruction, and/or complete maintenance to laser tooling per vendor & MPG requirements.
    • Take lead role in calibration and testing of ALL laser power measurement devices (both inside cell and test equipment).
    • Perform moderately complex service and repair of laser products where judgment is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations.
    • Setup laser beam delivery. Verify cover slide, focus, nozzle tip centering, remote laser beam alignment.
    • Setup and change if necessary fiber optic cable routing, cutting head, and remote laser dress packages.
    • Perform installation and/or installation support of laser products.
    • Implement design modifications and provide installation support for the modifications.
    • Work with production, spare parts availability, and plant engineering to continuously improve uptime.
    • Work with plant and corporate engineering to continuously improve dimple quality, cut quality, weld quality and uptime.
    • Consult with corporate laser engineer and plant engineering to determine solutions to unusual problems in product operation and maintenance.
    • Perform test studies, documenting parameters, tooling and any additional information as required.
    • Write and/or debug programs using CNC programming or in house specific software.
    • Write, teach, and/or debug programs using robot programming and in house specific software.
    • Direct production labor upon completion of equipment setup/validation.
    • Operate laser equipment to process materials/parts to meet customer specifications.
    • Documentation of test results in electronic reports with MS Office.
    • Document changes to existing jobs (parameters, tooling, etc.) for future production runs.
    • Perform field testing and data collection in the course of product/process improvement.
    • Develop and work instructions.
    • Construct and test circuits and equipment utilizing various tools and suitable test equipment.
