Description

The Milestone Foundation was founded in 2016 to be an alternative for plaintiffs seeking financial support while they proceed through litigation. In an industry full of predatory lending companies, the Milestone Foundation emerged as the only non-profit organization, to provide fair, low-interest funding to families to help cover their basic living expenses. In the spring of 2018, the Milestone Foundation received its 501(c)(3) public charity status. Today, the Milestone Foundation continues to be the only nonprofit organization giving plaintiffs and their families low-cost capital so they can make ends meet while they endure a lawsuit. The work of the foundation has been lauded nationally by trial lawyers and other leaders in the civil justice space. The pre-settlement advances we provide not only keep the lights on and keep a family fed, but they also allow individuals to see their lawsuit through to its just end – even if they are going up against a deep-pocket defendant such as a large corporation or pharmaceutical company. Milestone Foundation is looking for a highly ambitious Case Manager to take on the operational duties of the organization. This position will have great flexibility but is a communications-based role, and some travel may be required. The Milestone Foundation provides financial assistance to people pursuing a lawsuit while facing financial hardships. Being a nonprofit organization enables us to advance settlement funding to plaintiffs at low-cost and simple interest – a unique model in the plaintiff-funding industry. Since our founding, the Milestone Foundation has empowered more than 700 individuals & families totaling more than $5 million advanced to plaintiffs in need.

Position Summary and Responsibilities:

The Case Manager will be responsible for managing daily operations, including but not limited to: Extensive communication/outreach with plaintiffs and attorneys Cultivating existing relationships, and pursuing new relationships with attorneys, firms, and outside contractors Data tracking, organization, and reporting Coordinating contracts and payment disbursements Assisting with event planning, online campaigns, and appeals Organizing and managing documents/spreadsheets Maintaining state registrations and regulations Collaborate with advisors on operational projects

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required

Must demonstrate the ethos of the work and mission of The Milestone Foundation

Have a passion for justice and advocacy

Strong interpersonal skills and writing skills

Strong relationship skills Innovative/creative problem-solving

Be extremely organized and exhibit excellent follow-through on tasks/goals

Familiarity with technology solutions and software used in nonprofit operations: The Foundation utilizes Network for Good (Bonterra Technology) and Salesforce

Display positive attitude, have patience, and be a team player

Must be able to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects

Job Specs & Details:

Hours: Monday – Friday 9am-5pm EST

Salary commensurate with experience $70k-$80k 401(k) w/match Health, Dental & Vision insurance Generous paid time off

3/5 hybrid working after 90 probationary period
