    Job Summary

    Supervise Electric Distribution field personnel in Overhead and Underground Engineering Design and Construction.

    Resolve customer inquiries with regards to service design and construction; review circuit performance; and review and coordinate the work of engineering technicians assigned to them.



    Job Responsibilities

    Conduct performance appraisals and administer the Positive Discipline process appropriately. Prepare material requirements, workload forecasts, and schedules. Direct inspection programs for various types of distribution equipment. Assist in the training and development of engineering technicians.

    Perform the duties of engineer-on-call, including major storm restoration as well as other related duties that require working hours outside the normal work week.

    Promote safety and good customer relations. Perform special department projects and related assignments.

    Maintain and apply working knowledge of PSEG Standards for Business Controls and meet management's expectations for effective internal business controls.


    Additional job responsibilities:

    • Assisting in the planning and coordination of engineered work for the Overhead, Underground, Maintenance, and Operations departments.
    • QA/QC of engineered work packages and work orders created for Overhead and Underground.
    • Tracking and reporting of the engineering and construction progress on Asset Management/Asset Reliability Capital and O&M programs. (ES2, IAP, PPC, P1 Hot Spots, Reclosers)

    Job Specific Qualifications


    Required:

    • High school graduate or GED
    • 5 years of relevant experience
    • Knowledge of OPEIU Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA)
    • Extensive knowledge and experience in electric distribution design, operations, engineering and construction.
    • Knowledge of engineering practices and procedures and demonstrated ability to apply them to the distribution of electric energy.
    • Demonstrated Supervisory capability.
    • Good working knowledge of MicroStation
    • Understand the use and navigation of SharePoint.
    • Working knowledge of Compatible Units used in estimating and building jobs.
    • Strong computer skills - Microsoft Office, specifically a strong knowledge of Excel; Microsoft 365.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of MWMS, DWMS, OMS, GIS
    • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with people at all levels internally and externally.
    • Must possess and maintain a valid US driver's license and safe and satisfactory driving record.

    Desired:

    • Some college, courses in Engineering
    • Supervisory experience
