    This individual will be responsible for handling Auto Property Claims in accordance with NJ Unfair Practices Act, working in a fast-paced environment with heavy phone work. The role requires patience and the ability to function professionally in adversarial situations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Investigate and interpret policy provisions, endorsements, and conditions to make a coverage determination in automobile property claims.
    • Identify and investigate Contested Coverage Claims, preparing recommendations for the coverage committee.
    • Analyze auto accidents to determine liability, including interviewing claimants, witnesses, investigating officers, and securing relevant records and documentation.
    • Determine proximate cause, negligence, and damages based on investigations.
    • Evaluate and adjust reserves as necessary.
    • Dispatch instructions to field personnel for vehicle inspections.
    • Negotiate and settle claims within individual authority.
    • Submit claims for approval when necessary or for guidance, review, or referral.
    • Maintain an effective follow-up system for pending files.
    • Prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Adjust to fluctuating workload demands.
    • Communicate claim status to insureds, claimants, brokers, and other stakeholders.
    • Serve as an intermediary between the Company, preferred vendors, and customers.
    • Resolve disputes that may arise.
    • Maintain service, loss, and expense control at all times.
    • Adhere to privacy guidelines, laws, and regulations related to claims handling.
    • Initiate subrogation when applicable.
    • Handle arbitration and special civil part lawsuits related to property damage.
    • Participate in catastrophic claim handling as needed, which may involve traveling and extended hours.

    Requirements:

    • Strong customer service, organizational, verbal, and written skills are required.
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products.
    • Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university or 2-4 years of relevant work experience.
    • Recent college graduates are encouraged to apply.
