    Description

    Job Title:
    Contract Staff Accountant


    Position Overview:


    We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant for a 2–3-month contract to perform various financial tasks essential for the smooth operation of our finance department.

    The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.


    Key Responsibilities:

    Month End Journal Entries:

    Prepare and post accurate month-end journal entries to ensure the integrity of financial data and compliance with accounting standards.


    Commissions:
    Calculate, track, and process commission payments accurately and in a timely manner.

    Payroll:
    Handle payroll processing, including payroll accrual, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.

    Sales Elimination:
    Reconcile intercompany sales transactions to eliminate duplicate or overstated revenue.

    In-Transit:
    Monitor and reconcile in-transit inventory to ensure accurate reporting and valuation.

    Freight Accounting:
    Manage freight accounting activities, including freight accruals, reconciliations, and cost analysis.

    Rebate Accrual Accounting:
    Calculate, record, and reconcile rebate accruals to accurately reflect liabilities and expenses.


    Qualifications:
    Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.

    CPA certification or in progress preferred.

    Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting roles, preferably in a similar industry.

    Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and MS Excel.

    Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

    Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

    Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
