    The Opportunity

    We are seeking a Certified Surgical Technician (CST) to assist in our operating rooms. The CST will ensure the OR is prepared with necessary instruments and equipment, maintain a working knowledge of surgical instruments, and participate in minor troubleshooting.

    Responsibilities

    • Set up and prepare autoclaves for use, ensuring proper function and run specifications
    • Inspect the OR suite daily to meet ASC standards for cleanliness
    • Maintain instrument tables, mayo stands, and instruments in proper order and condition
    • Assist with stocking supplies, cleaning equipment, and room turnover in a timely fashion
    • Check IOLs with Circulating Registered Nurses and assist with closing the OR
    • Responsible for making and sterilizing packs, instrument trays, and packaging necessary instruments
    • Conduct lens inventory and report results to the Clinical Director or purchasing agent

    Requirements

    • Graduated from an accredited program for surgical techniques or equivalent practical experience
    • Knowledge of sterilization techniques and their appropriate uses
    • 1+ year working in an operating room environment, preferably as a surgical technician
    • Certification or training in ophthalmology surgical techniques preferred

    Salary

    $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience
