Salary
Applicants who have A.S.E.
"Master Medium/Heavy Truck Technician" certification through the National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence will be paid at a minimum of $60,970 annually.
Proof of A.S.E. certification must be submitted with the Employment Application.Position Specifications
Incumbents in this position are responsible for performing lead worker repairs, overhauls and maintenance for automotive and heavy equipment and vehicles.

Minimum Qualifications
Four years of experience diagnosing, repairing and maintaining heavy trucks (over 25,000 lb. GVW) or comparable heavy equipment and/or construction equipment, automobiles, and landscaping equipment.
Employees must furnish their own set of hand tools.
License:
Incumbents must posses and maintain a valid Missouri driver's license while employed by the City of St. Louis.
Applicants must possess a valid driver's license at the time of filing application and be able to present it upon request.
Some positions require a valid Commercial Driver's License or CDL permit (Class A or B) to be considered. Please note type of license, number, class and expiration date on the Employment Application.

City residents who pass an examination for a position in the classified service and do not receive any other preference will receive a five (5) point preference on a scale of 100 points on the exam.
An additional one (1) point shall be added to the passing score of City residents who receive any other preference on a scale of 100 points.
