    Posting Summary


    Perform installation, repair, maintenance and testing of electrical equipment and systems including motors, controllers, transformers and lighting systems, as directed.

    Troubleshoot and repair fire alarm systems. Access information utilizing computers. Promote a work place culture which encourages safety within the field and shop. Operate a University vehicle, and may be required to operate an aerial lift. Actively engage in learning and practicing principles of social justice and inclusion, environmental sustainability and delivering effective customer experience.

    Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

    High school diploma, Vermont Journey Electrical License, and one year experience in electrical systems required. Basic computer skills required. Valid driver's license or ability to obtain and driver's check required. Lifting of up to 60 lbs. occasionally. Specific physical requirements may apply based on job functions. Must wear Personal Protective Equipment ( PPE ) while performing specific job tasks. Initial employment contingent upon successful completion of background check and physical screening.

    This position may be hired at either the Journey or Master Electrician level depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.

    Bargaining Unit Position - United Electrical Workers, Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime), External candidates must complete a 4-month probationary period, A probationary period may be required for current UVM employees, 40 hour work week, A probationary period may be required, Background Check required for this position, A post-offer pre-employment (POPE test) physical examination is required
