The Role of Process Control Engineer at {company}

Job Summary

This is a technical position responsible for designing, developing, implementing, operating, monitoring and maintaining industrial control systems (ICS). The incumbent must hold a valid driver's license to perform essential job functions.

Key Responsibilities

Support Honeywell Experion and PLC engineering efforts.
Participate in the Management of Change process to ensure risks from Process Control changes are properly identified and managed.
Contribute engineering and technical expertise during development and/or revision of Process Control related standards, procedures, guidelines and plans to meet industry standards or regulatory requirements.
Familiarity with DCS regulatory control, loop tuning and basic compressor controls hardware and software such as Honeywell Experion, CCC, GE Mark VIe.
Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) on Process Control equipment failures to eliminate or mitigate consequences.
Lead RCFA on equipment or programming failures to eliminate or mitigate consequences.
Support Alarm Management program execution.
Develop expertise in Process Control Systems engineering and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS).
Stay up-to-date with Engineering Codes and Standards related to Instrumentation engineering, NFPA, ISA, IEC and others through participation in engineering standards committees.
Understand Engineering systems, calculations, applications and operations methods and materials, and engineering application of computers.
Communicate effectively in verbal and written form.
Conduct efficient meetings.
Develop comprehensive scopes of work.

Requirements

Experience with Honeywell Experion, Safety Manager and PLCs.
Safety Instrumented Systems certifications or course work.
Attention to detail, professionalism and reliability.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
Basic project management and supervision skills.
Knowledge of engineering fundamentals in multiple disciplines.
Broad knowledge of cross-functional project execution.

Work Environment

Must wear all necessary PPE equipment to perform job functions.
Works in a professional office environment within or outside of an industrial plant environment.
Possible exposure to indoor and outdoor weather conditions.
Possible exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid or windy weather conditions.
Possible exposure to moving mechanical parts and electrical circuits.
Possible exposure to constant or intermittent sounds that may cause distraction.
Routinely uses standard office and field communications equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and radios.
