    Job Title: Patient Access Specialist II

As a Patient Access Specialist II, you will be an integral part of our department-based scheduling pod, handling a high volume of patient inquiries and requests for scheduling diagnostic services, physician appointments, and general department information. Your role is crucial in delivering exceptional patient experiences through outstanding customer service, empathy, and patience.

    Job Responsibilities:
    • Schedule appointment requests and conduct outbound calls for Epic referrals.
    • Communicate insurance details, financial responsibilities, and time-of-service policies to patients.
    • Collect and verify patients' insurance and demographic information in EPIC.
    • Conduct real-time insurance verifications.
    • Obtain pre-registration information to manage Epic work queue accounts.
    • Provide necessary support and back-up coverage when required.
    • Handle general faxing, filing, and mail sorting tasks.
    • Facilitate team discussions on complex patient scheduling needs.
    • Address escalated cases with higher complexity as assigned and escalate issues for resolution.
    • Perform any other relevant duties as delegated.
    Job Qualifications:
    • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
    • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience with proficiency in medical terminology.
    • Demonstrated strong proficiency in handling various scheduling complexities and workflows.
    • Excellent customer service, problem-solving, and communication skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) or similar software.
    • Associate's Degree or higher is preferred.
    • Prior experience in high-volume customer service in a call center setting is a plus.
    • Fluency in both English and Spanish is advantageous.
