Supervising Psychologist - Albany, United States - Albany County
Description
Albany County Department of Mental Health is committed to building a diverse, representative, and inclusive team. We are seeking applications to fill a part time position as a Supervising Psychologist to provide services in the Adult Forensic Unit/ Community Mental Health Criminal Justice Unit with an emphasis on serving diverse communities and populations. This is a unique opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary accredited mental health service. This position offers the opportunity to work directly with the criminal justice system to provide court ordered evaluations and alternatives to incarceration. Duties also include consultation with correctional and medical staff as well as advocating for the needs of the inmate-consumers.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
OPEN-COMPETITIVE:
Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York registered college or university with a doctoral degree in psychology and three (3) years of experience in the administration of mental hygiene services.
PROMOTIONAL:
Three (3) years permanent competitive status as a Staff Psychologist.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
Must be a licensed Psychologist (possession of a license to practice psychology issued by the New York State Department of Education) within six (6) months of appointment.
