    The Senior Electrical Engineer – Recreational Living is an opportunity for a self-driven engineer to work cross-functionally with multiple product lines to launch new products into the RV market.

    In recent years, we have formed a network of suppliers for RV appliances with continued partnership to expand our lineup.

    In this role, the Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for becoming familiar with the needs of the customer (RV Manufactures, RV Dealers, & End Consumers), afterward working on projects that bring solutions to the market addressing the needs of customers.

    Projects could range from updating existing GE Appliances products for the RV industry, designing new kits & accessories, or working on NPIs to launch brand new GE Appliances platforms in the market.

    In addition to launching new products into the RV industry, the Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for improving existing RV products such as quality improvements and cost-out initiatives.

    Lead projects related to launching new appliances into the RV market and improve current RV products.

    Interact cross-functionally with multiple product lines to identify solutions to allow our existing products to be supplied to the RV industry.

    Lead key technical trade-off analysis and present options to the business leadership team.

    Lead field testing of new models to capture consumer feedback and failure modes with adequate time to implement solutions to field test issues before product launch.

    Use FRACAS methodology to capture all evaluation lab and field test failures and minimize PQR.
    Lead Electronic Technology efforts associated with the NPI process, and owner E-Review process.
    Lead Lean, DFSS, and DFR methodologies.
    Prioritize problems and escalate issues.
    Own Electronics evaluation plans, lead test unit builds in the factory, and support all budget estimate activities.
    Knowledge of various agency requirements for the various RV products.
    Ensure closure of safety review prior to product launch.
    Participate in scoping activities for Recreational Living Appliances.
    Knowledge of circuit board prototyping to support feasibility prototype builds.
    Develop knowledge of RV CAN Bus (RV-C) protocol.
    Join & participate in the RVIA – Committee meetings pertaining to RV-C spec updates.
    Shadow test sourced product black box software testing, including RV-C operation.
    Support installation trials at RV OEMs, typically located in Northern Indiana.
    Review relevant patent landscapes and adapt designs accordingly.
    Ability to work outside normal work hours to participate in conference calls with Asia suppliers.

    Some travel may be required (less than 10%) domestically and internationally depending on the phase of projects (i.e., key factory builds, customer install reviews, supplier visits, etc.)




    Qualifications:
    Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or other related discipline.
    5 years minimum experience in part design, subsystem design, leading projects for consumer products or similar fields.
    Experience launching sourced products.
    Knowledge in circuit board development and design
    Proven record of engineering analysis, evaluation planning, and design execution success.
    Hands-on experience building and testing prototypes in a lab and factory environment to develop and test various design concepts.

    Strong team building and project management skills, with a highly collaborative approach and ability to work effectively in a cross-functional matrix organization.

    Creative problem-solving abilities with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
    Demonstrated leadership ability with strong written and verbal communication skills.
    Ability to work in the field with RV OEMs during installation trials and trouble shooting.
