SUMMARY:

Under the general direction of the Director of Education, the Clinical Educator using a multi-disciplinary, collaborative approach is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating educational programs for nursing professionals based on evidence-based nursing practices that result in improvements in quality outcomes.

The clinical educator is responsible for nursing orientation, supporting and conducting in-service training, coordinating on-going competencies, facilitation of resuscitation certification classes, supporting the RN Residency program, supporting the use of the SIM CENTER, providing just-in-time training, the coordination of equipment training and other educational initiatives that support BRMC#s nursing strategies, including the Magnet Journey to Excellence.

Must have strong organizational skills, excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills required. Proficient Computer Knowledge and skill with use of Microsoft Office Programs, including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. The ability to lead workgroups and/or projects related to the implementation of education activities. Facilitation skills, including teaching, and/or precepting are essential. Need to be self-motivated, detail-oriented, adaptable, able to work independently, and the ability act as a change agent.

JOB REQUIREMENTS Education:

Bachelor#s Degree in Nursing Required Experience:
Minimum two (2) years clinical experience in an acute care setting

Certifications:
Active BLS, ACLS, PALS Resuscitation Certification Required or must become certified within 90 days from date of hire. Instructor Certification in BLS, ACLS, PALS Required or must become certified within 1 year from date of hire.

Other Skills:
Facilitation skills, including teaching, and/or precepting are essential. Experience in speaking in front of small and large groups.

Accurate work with attention to detail; interact and work cooperatively with others ; adapt to changes in workload and schedule to meet organizational needs; set priorities and solve problems; foster a team environment by providing support for other members of the Education Department.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to perform the following:

Must have the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, to solve problems and make decisions. Spend time in front of computer, monitor or similar screen utilizing keyboard and/or mouse, daily. Ability to stand and walk, bend, squat and twist, and occasionally lift up to 20 pounds. Must be able to handle critical and highly stressful situations with efficiency and composure.

Office Setting, classroom setting, and simulation center within a hospital environment #
