At UMass Memorial Health everyone Is a caregiver – regardless of their title or responsibilities Exceptional patient care academic excellence and leading-edge research make UMass Memorial the premier health system of Central Massachusetts — and a place where we can help you build the career you deserve We are more than 20 000 employees working together as one health system in a relentless pursuit of healing for our patients community and each other And everyone In their own unique way plays an important part every day Administers various forms of respiratory modalities In accordance with the policies and procedures Of The Respiratory Care Department Provides respiratory support And cardiopulmonary resuscitation As required Assists physician/anesthesia During intubations Assists physicians performing both diagnostic And therapeutic bronchoscopies And percutaneous dilatational tracheotomies At The bedside under bronchoscopic guidance Establishes treatment plans And modifies therapy According To department protocols For Bronchodilator therapy And chest physical therapy techniques Obtains arterial blood gasses Performs radial Brachial artery blood draws To obtain Blood samples For gas analysis Sets up monitors equipment For ventilatory support May set up monitors pulse oximetry equipment For continuous measurement Of oxygen saturation Sets up monitors mechanical ventilators During surgical procedures As required May set up administers Oxygen Including Various types Of cannulas Masks Coordinates maintains difficult airway carts Identifies assesses potential high-risk airway Patients Participates on code airway team May perform Both resting trending pulse oximetry
