    This is a Contractual position for events held at the World Shooting & Recreation Complex.

    Position Overview

    The Trap/Skeet Technician II will secure and maintain a safe shooting line of fire for all shooting disciplines; ensure all range safety standards are enforced which includes: safety for staff, loaders, scorers, competitors and audience; supervise and train loaders/scorers, trap/skeet technician I, target machine mechanics for the duration of the event; maintain and secure score cards and make final decisions according to association rules for scoring discrepancies and rule discrepancies during competitive events; assist with target setting on trap machines, trap machine adjustments, acquisition of employees; report directly to trap/skeet manager

    Essential Functions


    • Secure and maint6ina safe shooting line and ensure range safety standards are enforced.
    • Supervise all staff and competitors on the trap/skeet firing line.
    • Make final decisions on discrepancies.
    • Ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner.
    Minimum Qualifications


    • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of high school.
    • Must be knowledgeable with official governing body rules for trap/skeet shooting;
    • Must have served a minimum of 2 years in a team lead/supervisory role in shooting sports industry.
    Preferred Qualifications


    • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions;
    • Ability to operate simple equipment such as: trap/skeet machines and UTVs.
    Conditions of Employment


    All applicants must be able to meet the following Conditions of Employment, with or without reasonable accommodation, to be considered for this position.


    • Must be a minimum of 17 years old;
    • Possession of a valid Drivers License;
    • Requires capability to lift, carry and transport up to 25 pounds;
    • Requires physical condition and ability to perform position responsibilities which can include strenuous manual labor;
    • Requires ability to work most weekends, with some nights or holidays for events;
    • Requires ability to alter work schedule to meet the needs of the WSRC including long shifts up to 9-10 hours;
    • Ability to pass background check;
    • Requires ability to legally be around firearms.
