Job summary
The Donor Nurse is responsible for determining the acceptability and suitability of all first-time and returning donors under the direction of the Medical Director and/or Center Licensed Physician(s). They review normal donor laboratory results, refer abnormal findings to the Licensed Physician, and provide medical oversight in screening, phlebotomy, and plasma processing areas.Key Responsibilities:
- Perform physical examinations for new, returning, and annual donors (excluding donors receiving red blood cell immunizations).
- Administer and explain informed consent documents for plasmapheresis and other applicable donation programs.
- Maintain accurate, legible, and complete donor records in compliance with cGMP standards.
