    Description


    Summary You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCESS ASSISTANT (INFORMATION SYSTEMS) in the Total Force Management Program Office of MILITARY SEALIFT COMMAND Responsibilities You will process the full range of official personnel actions for Civil Service Mariner (CIVMAR) population in a timely and accurate manner.

    You will determine the appropriate nature of action, regulatory authority, ensuring action conforms to appropriate rules, regulations, policies, and procedures to be met.

    You will determine pay based upon the Coast assigned, type of ship, and position type. You will determine benefits eligibility, creditable service, and follow up on suspense actions. You will determine the appropriate coding and process actions through system hardware to generate NPA.

    Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications For GS-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.


    Specialized experience can be defined as:
    Experience applying a personnel processing rules, procedures, and operations in a Human Resources automated system. Experience processing a full range of recurring career-conditional, career, temporary, limited appointments, separations, position, and pay changes. Experience assisting with maintaining electronic Official Personnel Folders and utilizing Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel and DCPDS. Experience applying specialized personnel methods, regulations, principles and concepts.

    SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE:

    Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position: Successful completion of 4 years of education above high school.

    COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    Military Spouse Preference applicants will be placed at the highest grade for which they have applied and are determined Best Qualified (BQ).
