    Position Summary
    The Camp Custodian is responsible for providing custodial care to facilities and sites at Camp Brandenburg located in the town of Dane, WI. Work hours for this position vary between 20-25 hours per week. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the outdoors, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment to help carry-out the Girl Scout mission.

    Job Type: Part-Time/Non-Exempt
    Salary Range: $14-$16 per hour
    Expected hours: up to 20-25 hours per week

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    • Be responsible for the health and safety of campers, volunteers and staff through daily custodial tasks and monitoring conditions for safety concerns.
    • Perform cleaning and sanitizing of camp facilities including buildings, outdoor restrooms and activity areas. Cleaning includes emptying garbage/recycling, sweeping and mopping floors and other cleaning duties.
    • Participate in training for camp-specific cleaning procedures, universal precautions, and for camper supervision and instruction
    • Assist the site manager with maintenance tasks including clearing trails, spreading woodchips, assembling shade canopies, moving firewood and other duties as assigned.
    • Maintain, organize, and clean camp equipment and supplies. Report needed repairs.
    • Participate in opening and closing procedures of the camp season.
    • Assist with setting up and breaking down camp facilities, including tents, shelters, and activity areas.
    • Maintain and organize outdoor equipment and supplies, ensuring they are in good working condition, as requested.

    Education or Experience
    • Must be 21 years or older.
    • High school diploma or GED preferred, and 1-2 years of work history.
    • Excellent time management skills; ability to take initiative to solve problems and work with a minimum of supervision and function well as a member of a team.
    • Accurate, organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to work independently and shift priorities in response to changing needs.
    • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including daytime and/or some evening and weekend hours.
    • Commitment to creating and maintaining a safe and healthy camp environment.
    • Customer-service oriented with the ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner with a wide range of people.
    • Have daily access to dependable transportation.
    • Willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
    • Must be able to pass a criminal and driving background check.

    Other Requirements
    • Intermediate computer skills.
    • Possess a valid driver's License and proof of insurance.
    • Competent use of basic lawn care equipment (blower, trimmer, and hand tools).

    Physical Requirements
    • The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must be able to withstand:
      1. Repetitive arm movement.
      2. Ability to climb several flights of stairs, and hike trails.
      3. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds at times.
