    Position SummaryThe Quality Engineer is a key staff function within Mann + Hummel Goleta (MNUS) responsible for the sustainment and control of material and component product quality throughout the production process lifecycle.

    This role will technically advise and coach the quality inspection team and will assist in the determination and completion of First Article inspections, as necessary.

    This position will also be responsible for the ownership of the Material Review Board system and related control of nonconforming materials and products.

    This role will support the Corrective Action System and will assist responsible functions in the identification of root cause and adequate corrective/preventive actions.

    Supporting the Production department by observing processes and products on the manufacturing floor, this role will ensure process control at each step of the manufacturing lifecycle to ensure additive product quality.

    Your ChallengeMaintains the Material Review Board system and supports internal procedures for identification and disposition of discrepant materialMaintains corrective action system to ensure timely and effective resolution of issues affecting the businessUse structured problem solving techniques (such as 5-why, Ishikawa, etc) to effectively and efficiently solve product and system problemsAssist engineering in product design verifications and material/equipment/process qualifications/validations, per documented protocolsOversees maintenance of MNUS Calibration SystemPerform routine quality oversight of controlled manufacturing area for material identification, traceability, equipment calibration and equipment issues that may require attention.

    Supports manufacturing equipment inspections.

    Help to develop and maintain Quality metrics to support company goalsOversees routine QA environmental testing and reporting, per documented matrices and instruction, and upon request by Production or Engineering functions.

    Perform other QA activities as assigned by Quality ManagerPerform other duties as assignedYour ProfileEducation:
    A Bachelors degree in chemistry, engineering, manufacturing, or related field is required

    Training and Experience:


    Minimum three (3) years experience in similar roleKnowledge of:FDA, cGMP, ISO and applicable Quality System StandardsProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Access computer programsSkills and Abilities to:Perform activities to support product development, administration, manufacturing, and release as identified to Senior ManagementDemonstrate proficiency utilizing metrology/inspection toolsHigh capability and execution of problem solvingAre you full of ideas?
