    Description
    POSITION: Medical Biller

    DEPARTMENT: Business Office

    HOURS: 40 hours per pay period/Non-Exempt
    .5 FTE

    UNION: Yes

    UNION NAME: Local 113

    WAGE RANGE: $ $29.78

    GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Performs daily Insurance Verification and Prior Authorization activities
    EDUCATION/TRAINING:

    High school diploma or equivalent. One (1) or two (2) years Coding, Accounting, Medical Administrative Secretary AAS, Medical Assistant Diploma or similar degree plus two (2) or more years medical billing experience preferred.

    SKILL(S):
    • Knowledge of medical terminology and the ability to interpret medical charts.
    • Knowledge of medical records, including HIPAA laws and privacy policy compliance.
    • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and complete work in a timely manner.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to work in a team environment with various levels of experience and responsibilities.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks based on importance and urgency.
    • Strong attention to detail is essential in this role.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams and SharePoint.
    EXPERIENCE:
    Experience with medical admissions or billing software (i.e. EPIC, Rycan) preferred.
