- Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive origination strategy for the company's Pumped Storage Hydropower projects.
- Build and maintain strong, assured relationships with potential offtakers, including utilities, corporations, and other entities seeking renewable energy and long-duration energy storage solutions.
- Cultivate and nurture relationships with key stakeholders like state regulators, ISOs, and government officials.
- Collaborate seamlessly with the development team to facilitate and support offtake and stakeholder relationship building throughout project lifecycles.
- Monitor industry trends, market pricing dynamics, and regulatory developments impacting the renewable energy landscape.
- Source, structure, and negotiate complex offtake agreements and innovative commercial structures, ensuring they are commercially sound, mitigate risks, and align with the company's strategic objectives.
- Manage the origination budget and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of origination activities.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment, leading your team to success.
- Identify and pursue new business development opportunities to expand the company's renewable energy development pipeline and market reach.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in the renewable energy industry, with a proven track record of success in originating and negotiating offtake agreements.
- In-depth knowledge of renewable energy and storage technologies, power markets, and relevant financing structures.
- Strong understanding of sourcing and structuring Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), Resource Adequacy Agreements (RAAs), and other offtake arrangements, including negotiation strategies and market best practices.
- Award-winning communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and negotiate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
- Deep set of senior-level industry contacts.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to navigate complex situations.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, engineering, or a related field, preferably with an MBA or equivalent.
