    Job Title: Project Management Specialist Manufacturing Platforms

    Location: Fridley, Minnesota (Fully Onsite)

    Type: W2 contract

    Overview

    Within the Manufacturing Platforms Development team in Operations Innovation, we deploy advanced project management methodologies to ensure the robust planning and execution of new manufacturing platforms and continuous improvement initiatives.

    As a Project Management Specialist, you will drive technical execution across multiple engineering teams. You will coordinate the design, integration, and validation of new platform technologiesspecifically automation, machine vision, and computer vision systemsensuring projects move efficiently from concept through implementation. Your leadership will be critical in delivering innovative manufacturing technology that enables us to achieve our 5-year strategic goals and strengthen our ability to bring life-saving products to patients worldwide.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Technical Project Leadership: Lead the project life cycle for innovative devices and therapies using Hybrid Methodologies (Agile/Scrum and/or Waterfall).
    • Execution & Coordination: Define project scope, budgets, and timelines while coordinating the design and integration of automation and vision systems.
    • Stakeholder Management: Partner with engineering leaders, business process managers, and cross-functional experts in IT, Quality, Operations, and Sourcing.
    • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, external suppliers, and business partners to develop and sustain the platform portfolio.
    • Risk & Resource Management: Identify, escalate, and mitigate project risks while managing resources and capacity constraints.

    A Day in the Life

    • Represent the Platform Development Portfolio as the primary PMO representative on project teams.
    • Build comprehensive cross-functional project schedules and understand the overall dependency and environmental factors
    • Lead core PM activities: planning, tracking, risk management, and formal communications.
    • Implement best-practice tools and techniques in partnership with the Business Process PMO Senior Manager.
    • Monitor performance and provide regular status updates to key sponsors and stakeholders.
    • Manage changing priorities through effective schedule management and change-agent leadership.
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the PMO to drive organizational maturity.

    Qualifications

    • Must-Haves
    • Education: Bachelors degree in engineering, Science, or a related technical discipline.
    • Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of relevant engineering project management experience (or 2+ years with an advanced degree).
    • Technical Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional technical projects from concept through implementation within a manufacturing or technology development environment.
    • Soft Skills: Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills.
    • Required Knowledge and Experience: Requires mastery of a specialty area and full knowledge of industry practices, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have broad knowledge of project management. Requires a Baccalaureate degree (or for degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree which satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. 214.2(h)( 4)(iii)(A) and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

    Nice to Haves

    • Advanced Education/Cert: Masters degree (MS or MBA) and PMP certification.
    • Domain Expertise: Hands-on experience with automation, machine vision, or computer vision technologies.
    • Industry Knowledge: Background in equipment integration, process automation, or regulated industries (Medical Device, Aerospace, etc.).
    • Tool Proficiency: Expertise in MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, Azure DevOps, or Confluence.
    • Global Experience: Proven ability to manage complex programs involving global teams and external system integrators.
    • Mindset: Comfort with ambiguity and a track record of driving structure in complex environments.
